Old Town Walkabout
The Old Town Walkabout will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 in Wichita's historic Old Town. The festivities begin at 5:30 pm in the Old Town Square and the Farmers Market Area, where guests check in and start there ventures! Walkabout stops include local restaurants and venues serving a variety of food and wine. Participating venues will include restaurants, bars, and businesses, among others, scattered from Douglas Street along Rock Island and N. Mead up to the plaza north of Second Street.

2025 Walkabout Participants
30 years ago, six Wichita residents took a trip to the New Orleans wine festival. While there they participated in the Royal Street Stroll. Participants in this event stroll from business to business in a four-block area in the French Quarter to sample wine and food.

The group thought this would be a wonderful addition to the Midwest Winefest and brought the idea back to the Winefest Committee… and, as they say, the rest is history!
